Delivering Reliable, Efficient Energy Solution for Telecom Sites

  • 2024.34.4
  • Success Cases

Client: China Mobile Guangdong XXX Base Station

Challenges & Requirements

With the rollout of 5G technology, the power consumption of base stations has increased significantly, consuming 3-4 times more energy than 4G stations. The existing power distribution system cannot meet these demands. Key requirements include:

  • Extended Backup Power: Ensure stable operation with 1 hour backup for wireless equipment, 3 hours for auxiliary equipment, and 10 hours for transmission equipment.
  • Reduced Energy Loss: Lower electricity costs and improve energy efficiency.
  • Lower Maintenance Costs: Optimize energy management to reduce daily maintenance and operational costs.

Our Solution

To address these needs, Juding designed a comprehensive grid-connected photovoltaic energy storage system.

Power and Backup Analysis:

  • Designed for an average power consumption of 5KW, meeting daily operational needs.

System Design:

  • Energy Storage: 50kWh capacity.
  • Power Configuration: -48V100A for communication equipment and 3KW/220V for auxiliary equipment.
  • Generation Method: High-efficiency polycrystalline silicon photovoltaic system, supplemented by off-peak grid power for continuous supply.

Complementary Power Supply:

  • Uninterrupted supply via photovoltaic generation, energy storage batteries, and off-peak grid power.
  • Maximizes cost reduction and uses clean energy to support carbon peak goals.

Solution value

The 50kWh energy storage cabinet and solar + grid + storage solution offers:

  • Annual Savings: Approximately 23,945 RMB in electricity costs.
  • Payback Period: Around 6 years.

This solution meets the energy needs of the telecom site, reducing operational and maintenance costs, enhancing efficiency, and supporting sustainable development.

Summary

Juding’s grid-connected solar energy storage system provides a reliable, efficient energy solution for the China Mobile Guangdong XXX Base Station. It addresses the high energy consumption of 5G base stations, improves power supply stability and economic efficiency, and supports the green development of the telecommunications industry.
